Evangelicals for Immigration Reform

Like tens of thousands of other Americans, I'll be in Washington D.C. this Sunday in the March for America rally on behalf of undocumented immigrants. The Evangelical congregation which my wife and I have the privilege of pastoring is taking our worship on the road . At 6 a.m. we are getting on a chartered bus to Washington D.C. for the March for America gathering. Many of the faithful at the church, along with thousands of Evangelicals, believe that marching on behalf of some of the most vulnerable is a form of worship.

I just received word that my friend and fellow evangelist, Shawn Holes is, at this moment, sitting in a Glascow, Scotland jail cell. His crime: he mentioned what the Bible says about homosexuality.

As I read through the latest 100 blogs posted on The World Race, I have read a lot about what a travel day will look like. God let me experience a day of "world race" travels in my reality coming back from Europe. On March 15 at 6:30am, Kristin and I left our hotel in Rome for the airport. Train, Plane and Automobile

I feel like I'm on the World Race again, America Edition. In a time span of almost 60 hours I will have traveled on a train, a plane and an automobile to get from Port Huron, Michigan all the way to Buffalo, Wyoming. (It's almost like the movie except I don't have an annoying companion, sadly enough!!)

When I first began to speculate a couple of weeks ago about how to make this trek across the country, it felt completely normal to look

maybe it's africa, maybe it's the fact that we barely have one hundred days left on this race, but conversations as of late have seemed to drift to everyone going home. i suppose at this stage it's normal to start thinking about what life will hold for each of us post-race. people are thinking about jobs and places to live, we are receiving emails about flights home; plans are being made. and of course the prospect of being home in three months brings joy. i am so looking
