Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

On this site you will find a handful of free publications including the "Incarcerated Parents Manual" (available in both English and Spanish) as well as very helpful fact sheets on related issues such as access to medical care in women's prisons.  If you are interested in learning more about prison related issues, you can check out their reading list--it covers everything from health topics to re-entry.  If you can't find what you're looking for on their site, visit the related organizations to whom they provide links.

Conquest Offender Reintegration Ministries

Summary:

Conquest Offender Reintegration Ministries offers a number of programs designed to assist ex-offenders to have better lives. Its Reintegration of Ex-Offenders Project provides mentoring, case management, and other assistance to enable ex-offenders as they search for a job and become self-sufficient. The Conquest House Transitional Rooming House provides a place for up to six men to live for up to 18 months following their release from prison or jail until they are able to afford their own housing.

In addition to working with ex-offenders, Conquest Offender Reintegration Ministries is currently involved in a “Toothpaste Project” to provide personal hygiene products to those incarcerated in the District of Columbia.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Conquest Offender Reintegration Ministries has drawn upon its own experience and successes in working with ex-offenders to produce resources that other organizations can utilize to start up and improve their ministries to ex-offenders. In addition, this site contains information about its annual Christian Reentry Conference, which provides information and encouragement to those interested in providing aftercare for those who have been incarcerated.
