Craigslist and Pornography

CT's state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sent a letter today to Craigslist outlining "strong and specific" measures to fight prostitution and pornography on their website.


According the Attorney General, the ads posted on Craigslist for illegal prostitution and pornography were rampant, which he sited were reasons for the need to implement the new measures.

The new measures include eliminating photographs in the "erotic services" and similiar sections of the site, implementing technology that screens pornograhic images, hiring staff to screen ads that blatantly  violate craigslist terms of service and offering financial incentives for anyone for correctly flags and reports prostitution advertisements on the site.

Pornography Addiction

As I was sitting here wondering what to write about God gave me an idea. So many people talk about what to do about internet pornography and how to deal with it. The first thing is to put a filter on the computer. There are many good filters out there, such as SafeEyes, BeSafe just to name a couple. I use K9 for my computer. But to make filters really work, you need someone else to put their password on the installation. Putting your own password on it, defeats the purpose of the filter. The next you need to do, is to get an accountability person. Now I know how hard that is to do. To tell another person that you are addicted to internet pornography. I know that is hard. It was hard when I did it. But looking back after a year, I am glad that I did.

Setting up a Free Email Account

  1. Locate a free computer in the lab and make sure it is turned on
  2. Single click the mouse on the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen. Single click on Programs. Find the item on the menu that has a blue “e” and says Internet Explorer and single click on it.
  3. Internet Explorer should load and show http://www.yahoo.com as the homepage. If Internet Explorer was already loaded, you should press the home button on the menu bar to go to yahoo.
