Mission Statement
Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is an expanding evangelical Christian ministry serving the greater Seattle community. By sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, we are meeting the spiritual, social and physical needs of people. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission serves an ever-changing society through direct rescue mission work. As God leads, we partner with churches, individuals and organizations to maximize our total effectiveness.
Description
The Mission is a non-profit, faith based organization serving greater Seattle. We provide food and shelter 365 days a year. Since 1932 we have been restoring hope and changing lives. Today, the Mission continues to serve homeless and hurting men, women and children in our community while partnering with individuals, businesses, churches and supporting organizations.
Organizational Statement of Faith
2.WE BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE GOD, ETERNALLY EXISTENT IN THREE PERSONS: FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.
3.WE BELIEVE IN THE DEITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, IN HIS VIRGIN BIRTH, IN HIS SINLESS LIFE, IN HIS MIRACLES, IN HIS VICARIOUS AND ATONING DEATH, THROUGH HIS SHED BLOOD, IN HIS BODILY RESURRECTION, IN HIS ASCENSION TO THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER, IN HIS PERSONAL RETURN IN POWER AND IN GLORY.
4.WE BELIEVE THAT THE SALVATION OF LOST AND SINFUL MEN, REGENERATION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL.
5.WE BELIEVE IN THE PRESENT MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BY WHOSE INDWELLING THE CHRISTIAN IS ENABLED TO LIVE A GODLY LIFE.
6.WE BELIEVE IN THE BODILY RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND UNJUST, THE EVERLASTING BLESSEDNESS OF THE SAVED, AND THE EVERLASTING, CONSCIOUS PUNISHMENT OF THE LOST.
7.WE BELIEVE IN THE SPIRITUAL UNITY OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST
