Mission Statement:
In recognition that poverty ravages many areas of the world - victimizing families, children and the elderly, we dedicate ourselves to a ministry of relief and development to aid the poorest of the poor.

Wherever possible, our work is not to sustain the needy, but rather to break the cycle of poverty that plagues them. By providing educational opportunities and by focusing on community development, we strive to make impoverished individuals and villages self-supporting.

Rather than create new institutions to distribute aid, we will first seek to help existing ministries and churches already serving the poor. In addition to being the most cost-effective way of helping the poor, empowering these ministries allows us to support the Church's spiritual mission and its important position of leadership in poor communities.

Through prayer, and in a spirit of obedience, we submit our work to God, seeking His inspiration and leading in everything we do.

Welcome to CCDAMiami08.org where you will find loads of information and resources related to the 20th Annual Conference of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA). Conference dates are October 22 – 26, 2008 and the venue for our event is the Hyatt Regency and James L. Knight Center in downtown Miami.

Who is CCDA: CCDA is the premier US organization of church-related community-serving programs. It is an ethnically diverse, national network of thousands of Christians, both individuals and groups, who work together to mobilize spiritual and physical resources in and for their communities through the church in a community-determined way that is redemptive.

Each year at our annual conference, CCDA members and others of goodwill gather to learn from each other through teaching and workshops, discover new resources, network among friends and new acquaintances, worship together and visit ministries to see what God is doing locally.

As hosts for the Conference, we would like to welcome you ahead of time to our city and to let you know that we will be working diligently to make the 2008 CCDA conference meaningful and fun for attendees.
