The mission of CCCO is to bring hope and empowerment to the residents of Central City Los Angeles by providing relational and community based programs that develop accountability and leadership to benefit the neighborhood and its residents.

Our misssion is to promote indigenous leadership development in Northwest Pasadena and beyond. We emphasize ministry to children, youth and families in our community, which is predominantly African-American and Latino. ?Harambee? means ?Let?s Push Together? in Swahili. In 1983, the neighborhood surrounding Harambee Center boasted the highest daytime crime rate in Southern California. The corner which our facility occupies had the dubious title of ?blood corner,? for it was a place where the most drive-by shootings and failed drug deals occurred. We moved into this area and became neighbors, and for 22 years we have served the children and families of this community by offering Afterschool Tutoring, Bible teaching, Summer Day Camp, and Junior Staff job opportunities.

To establish neighborhood-based tutoring centers to empower at-risk Azusa children and youth to achieve their potential academically, socially and spiritually.

At Reach Our Community Kids, our desire is to inspire each teen who we serve to reach his or her full potential. We accomplish this by engaging youth and mentoring them in a positive after-school environment. We instill hope and provide educational and personal growth opportunities. We are compelled to serve our community in this way through our commitment to demonstrate Christ’s love.

Urban Compass provides a safe, welcoming, and innovative environment that challenges our youth to envision and navigate a course for a rewarding future characterized by achievement, independent thought, and social responsibility through education, mentoring, and play.

We strive to offer structured learning in a fun environmnent while simultaneously focusing on self-confidence and motivation through the joy of learning. In addition to helping children academically, we also strive to make a difference in the families of participating children by working with parents in times of crisis.

Cloud and Fire Ministries is a 501(c)3 organization which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged urban youth. We have been providing services to urban adolescents and teens since 1999, although or organization received non-profit status in 2002. Our staff is comprised largely of teachers, who, collectively, have over 25 years of experience working with our target population.

The youth we serve are primarily from low-income Hispanic families, and are growing up in an environment where education in not the priority. These are not families who live idly, or rely on welfare checks. Rather, they are hard working, entrepreneurial, manual laborers, who work long hours to provide for their families. Though they rely on one another to care for little ones, they are often without options for older children, who are at extreme risk of becoming involved in the gangs that can daily be seen lining the streets.

Founder and President, Melody Rossi had been teaching in a local Middle School, and was troubled by the fact that the student population was so academically deficient. In fact, the results of standardized tests at the school indicated academic performance in the bottom 2% of the nation! With scores like this, students would never be able to acquire the skills for desirable jobs.

Cloud and Fire Ministries was established to provide young people with an alternative to the choices on the street, and to adequately equip them to live safe, productive lives. Through these efforts we have been providing Middle School and High School students with fun, engaging, and beneficial after school and weekend activities for nearly six years.

Teen Challenge of Southern California Inc. is a non-profit Christan organization, whose primary purpose is to offer support and aid to youth, adults and familities with life-controlling problems. We endeavor to help by providing residential rehabilitation centers, counseling, outreach, Biblically based support groups, drug prevention through education as well as leadership training and development. Teen Challenge focuses on every aspect of the individual's life: spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and social. Our purpose is to help people discover a new and fulfilling way of life through a personal experience with Jesus Christ.

Teen Challenge Ministry Institute and Won-by-One God SquadÂ’s mission is to connect caring adults to serve inner city youth and families by providing hope in a safe, nurturing environment, quality academic support, recreational activities and character building and leadership training to reach their highest potential. The program is designed to meet the needs of students who are most at risk of academic and social failure in their community.
