Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love for God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

The Salvation Army in Greater Columbus is a collection of Salvation Army churches (called corps) and facilities where area residents can receive services, such as food from Choice Pantries, After School Learning Centers for children, activities and assistance for seniors, Career Enhancement Centers and other programs for adults. Our facilities are also at the ready for disaster relief, including our mobile canteen, which was dispatched in the fall of 2007 to Ohio regions experiencing severe flooding. In 2006, The Salvation Army in Greater Columbus responded to more than 70,600 requests for service.
