Mission Statement

Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian Organization providing home-ownership opportunities for low income partner families. We offer A Hand UpÂ…Not A Hand Out. GCHFH works with integrity to build communities that are founded on the conviction that all of GodÂ’s children deserve a decent and affordable place to live.

Description

GLOUCESTER COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (GCHFH) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build safe, decent and affordable homes for low-income working families. This is accomplished by obtaining the greatest level of donated time, money and materials as possible. Houses are sold at cost. No profit or capital gain is realized. Mortgages are held by GCHFH with zero interest charged. Families must work 500 “sweat equity” hours in the construction of the house.

GCHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. GCHFH receives no funding or financial support from the parent organization. Rather, funds are obtained from individual, church and corporate donors. GCHFH also conducts fundraising events such as the Annual Casino Night and the Walk for Humanity. The objective of all fundraising efforts is self sustainability.

Organizational Statement of Faith

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
