Mission Statement

The main mission of the Dorchester H.E.R.C. is to encourage under privileged and high risk elementary, middle and high school students to excel academically. Dorchester H.E.R.C. seeks to challenge students to pursue their dreams and goals and to assist them and their families through this process. The programs focus on developing and enriching the students mentally, spiritually, and relationally.

Description

The Center is situated in the heart of the community of the immigrants in need of its services. The Center stands in a perfect position to be the centerpiece between differing groups of people to help overcome the economic, cultural, and language barriers that exits. There is a sense of trust and safety attached to a "Faith-based Center" that makes it an ideal place for people to seek help for themselves. The Center has the adequate space, ideal location, ad the concerned individuals who are committed to seeing people succeed academically, as well as socially. Additionally, in an effort to help our students become familiar with the culture, we take them on field trips to social and historical places around Boston.
