Mission Statement

Camden County Amachi Project is the Camden Chapter of Amachi's nationwide effort to end generational incarceration by mentoring children of prisoners. Amachi in Camden works to identify children of prisoners living in Camden County and to recruit caring and responsible adults to act as mentors to these children.

Description

CCAP is continuing the implementation of the Amachi Mentoring Project (Amachi), which focuses on youth violence reduction through a mentoring program for the children of incarcerated parents. CCAP is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of Amachi in Camden. AmachiÂ’s collaboration partners are Project C.O.P.E., Big Brothers Big Sisters: Burlington, Camden and Gloucester, and The New Jersey Department of Corrections.
