Mission Statement
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Inc. is to provide the service of supervised mentoring by caring and consistent adults to children in need of a positive role model, as well as providing support, education, and direction to help enrich the lives of all people, including children, volunteers and families.
Pikes Peak mission: To help children reach their full potential through professionally supported one-to-one volunteer mentoring relationships with measurable impact.
Description
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister means being a special friend and role model to a child through a one-to-one caring and consistent relationship. Programs are flexible to accommodate a variety of schedules. Typically volunteers meet with a child 2-3 hours each week from 2-4 times a month for a year. An assortment of activity options and ideas are provided along with training and the support of professional BBBS Match Specialist to ensure a positive experience for both the child and volunteer.
