Registrar Associate: Office of Admissions and Records 2004-9/2007
Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland
· Engage in the admission and registration of students, both domestic and international, while ensuring the accuracy of data maintained on the student information system.
· Facilitate and expedite the matriculation of transfer credit, ID cards distribution, involuntary withdraws, grade changes, enrollment verification and all imaging and digitized storage of student records.
· Represent the Office of Admissions and Records unit in campus and college wide meetings for designated areas of coordination and/or on behalf of the campus registrar.
· College wide POC for MTAP: Maintain and process Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP) applications, working directly with the University of Maryland, College Park POC for this program. Generate and evaluate transcripts and mail spreadsheet, applications and packet for those who qualify.
· Interpret college policies and procedures for students, faculty and staff while processing transcript requests, changes in academic records, inputting test scores, SAT, ACT, TOEFL scores and various levels of competency and placement into the student information system.
· Maintain currency in technological updates to the student information system and computer applications—staying abreast of changes to BANNER, the internet, word processing, email and related functions. Apply relevant new technology to the performance of duties.
· Preparation of Academic Appeals to present before a panel of Faculty—background investigations, running academic history and transcripts and contact students for missing documentation.
· Individual responsibility of processing all documentation and maintaining records for au pair students and Business and Industry contracts while keeping in step with evolving federal, state and local regulations in conjunction with these agreements.
· Process admissions applications, registration and any other necessary forms using established college criteria.
· Night-Shift Supervisor and designated trainer for probationary employees, temps and work study students.
