De Leiders van het team zullen aanmoedigen, controleren, zullen verhoudingen bouwen en zullen zullen de puntpersoon voor groepen de jeugd, of 6-12 jaar oud of 12-18 jaar oud zijn aangezien zij door verschillende activiteiten van ons later schoolprogramma roteren. De leiders van het team zullen de kans om met de jeugd tijdens de onderwijs/snacktijd, de gymnastiek/de tijd van de spelruimte en speciale activiteiten hebben deel te nemen. De uitstekende kans voor oudere hoge school/universiteit verouderde vrijwilligers.
De speciale Leiders van de Activiteit zullen van de speciale activiteiten voor kleine groepen de jeugd plannen en vergemakkelijken. De activiteiten zullen als tijd van verrijking in ons afterschoolprogramma dienen. De jeugd zult de kans hebben om het levensvaardigheden, enchance artistieke capaciteiten te ontwikkelen en te versterken en onze buren te dienen. Sommige activiteiten omvatten, maar zijn niet beperkt tot STEP/Dance Team, het Koken, Basketbal. Als u een speciaal aandachtsgebied of een idee hebt, te laten gelieve ons het weten.
De vrijwilligers zullen assit studenten met homeowrk, tutoring verstrekken en/of de jeugd aanmoedigen om aan andere onderwijsactiviteiten zoals raadsspelen, raadsels of lezing deel te nemen. Het programma neemt Maandag Vrijdag 2:30 door - 6: 00 p.m.
Volunteers will encourage youth to participate in recreational activities, basketball, ping pong, air hockey, board games, foosball, billiards and other group activities. Recreational time serves as a time for youth to use their athletic abilities, maintain physical health, and learn about sportsmanship and teamwork. Experience leading group activities and an interest in sports and team games is helpful. Ability to model positive attitude and behavior is a must.
Girl Scout Troop Leader to lead Girl Scout program 2 days per week. Troop leader volunteer would receive training by the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania and then lead the troop in building girls of courage, confidence and character.
Basketball leader needed to launch and maintain exciting new basketball program where youth work on conditioning, skills, drills and games to assist youth in the use of their athletic abilities, maintain physical health, and learn about sportsmanship and teamwork. Experience in basketball coaching, physical and wellness educational programs a plus.
TAN September work camp will be held at illacit primary school in Kajiado District, Rift Valley Province(Masai land), Southern Kenya near the border with Tanzania from the 9th to 29th September 2008. illasit primary school is a public primary school. It has a student population of 1,982 and 32 teachers. The school headmaster's name is Mr Gatimu. Volunteers will be accommodated at one of the school building. The following are some of the work scheduled to be undertaken in the work camp;-
1)Start a big vegetable garden to supplement the school feeding program.
2)Sensitize maasai women against female genital mutilation(FGM) through existing local initiatives.
3)Plant trees around the school(this is a TAN 'must do' activity in all camps).
4)Teach and help the teachers grade the students school work.
5)Work in the school kitchen(the school runs a government sponsored feeding program).
6)Volunteer in nearby community health center.
7)Join the community in a clean up campaign.
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport (JKIA) you will be met by TAN staff.
Their will be an orientation on the 8TH September 2008 at TAN offices in Nairobi. Therefore volunteers are advised to make plans to arrive before this date. It is a MUST to participate in the work camp orientation on the 8th in Nairobi. Participants will leav
