Holistic ministry is incarnational ministry - God becoming flesh. It's God's people fleshing out the truth of the gospel in real needs with real people.

The best way to disciple in the way of Jesus Christ is to have them involved in hands-on ministry.

People are used to being entertained. They believe church is for them first, for their children and their youth programs.... Sometimes you have to convert people to the idea that they really want to go and build houses in rural North Carolina or they really want to spend their Saturday morning in downtown Chester.

We really believe, here in suburban Philadelphia, that our parish includes a wide variety of areas, including the poorest community in Pennsylvania, which is Chester, and that we need to be there, both as Christ's witnesses, and also we need to be there with our brothers and sisters, who are ministering directly in that community.
