Summary:

"Learn Christian stewardship by living it with people in need."  New Focus National is a faith-based training organization providing tools and processes to cultivate change in families' finances and relationships, moving people from getting, to gaining, to giving.  In comparison with other Christian financial literacy programs that focus on middle and upper-income church members, New Focus tries to meet the needs of lower income earners that are experiencing generational or situational poverty, whether members of the church or not.   Charitable benevolence is more than handing out money, it's training people in healthy financial practices.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

New Focus offers virtual seminars in CD format to train church members and volunteers in Christian stewardship principles.  A new seminar is added each month on topics such as being proactive vs. reactive with benevolence funds, the "lost art of volunteering," and the signficance of credit reports.  These seminars will strengthen stewardship and compassion skills, provide expert advice and teaching, and help generate ideas for outreach in your community.  The seminars are $39.  Find out more by visiting the website.
