Summary:

Christ was and is about holistic ministry, healing for the whole person.  The Church, therefore, is called to follow in His steps by embracing holistic ministry -- pursuing evangelism, community restoration, and social justice in the name of the Kingdom of God.  To do all these things well, churches must work with each other, with other faith-based and secular organizations and with local government.  Word & Deed Network is designed to help churches do just this.  They seek to connect churches on 5 levels:

·  Geographically, connecting congregations with the other organizations in their communities;

·  Denominationally, making the best use of the already established networks of churches belonging to denominations;

·  Urban-Suburban ties, helping suburban churches get involved and minister to a specific neighborhood, in partnership with a local urban church;

·  Globally, connecting ministries across the nations, helping them learn from and serve one another;

·  Organizationally, gathering the resources and knowledge from Christian organizations around the globe.
