Summary:

This booklet offers brief profiles of faith-based organizations that have partnered with the Corporation for National and Community Service to host Americorps, Senior Corps, and VISTA workers. It provides information on the types of programs these volunteers have been involved with and the benefits that the host FBOs have gained by having these extra “hands on deck.”

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Some of the FBOs profiled in the booklet were initially skeptical of their ability to partner with the Corporation, fearing they were too small or that cooperation with the Corporation would negatively affect the religious character of their service programs. Their stories show how FBOs are capable of forging effective relationships with the Corporation that benefit them in terms of human capital brought to bear by Americorps and VISTA workers.
