Printer-friendly versionPDF version

This seminar begins with a review of the
current literature around meeting the
educational, social and emotional needs
of the student who may be at-risk. We will
explore the impact that race, culture, socioeconomic
status, chaos, media influence and
other factors can have on a student’s ability
to successfully participate in the classroom.
Most importantly, we will investigate what
teachers can do to help students overcome
barriers to positive academic and life
outcomes.
