Summary:

The Juvenile Research and Statistics Association and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention have partnered to improve the evaluation of juvenile justice programs by establishing the Juvenile Justice Evaluation Center.  The JJEC aims to improve the capacity of local and state organizations and agencies to evaluate their juvenile justice programs.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Among the juvenile justice evaluation program areas included on this site are both after-care programs and community-based programs.  For each program area, the site provides a brief summary, a description of the state of evaluation, performance measures, examples of methodologically sound evaluations, and a bibliography of resources, many of which are available online on the JJEC Web site.  This will be an invaluable tool for practitioners interested in evaluating their aftercare programs for juvenile offenders.
