Youth Discipler

PURPOSE:            To develop several close discipleship relationships with youth to help them develop into men and women of God.

LOCATION:            Inner City Impact        

                               3327 W Fullerton                    

                               Chicago, IL 60647                              

DEPARTMENT:      Program Staff

GRADES:               6^th-12^th

COMPENSATION:        Support raising with paid vacation, holidays, and sick time; optional medical/dental benefits; medical reimbursement and 403B retirement plan

RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Assist in weekly Youth club programs. (ex: help run crafts, games, etc.)

·      Build relationships with 5-10 children, with the purpose of discipleship

a.       Continue these relationships as long as the kids are willing.

b.      Work to involve them in a local church

c.       Involve them in sharing their faith with others

·      Spend 20-25 hours a week visiting and having children over

·      Follow-up new Believers:

a.       Visit their homes and meet their parents

b.      Achieve established follow-up goals

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Must exhibit a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ

·         Must be born again according to the Gospel

·         Must have a minimum of one year (or equivalent) of formal Bible training

·         Must be able to function as a team player to achieve and support organizational goals

·         Must have a love for children/youth

·         Must have a passion for seeing children grow in the faith

·         Must be willing to live in the community to which ICI actively ministers

·         Must be discerning and sensitive

·         Desirable that he/she have the ability to teach effectively
