Urban Youth Pastor

Transformation City Church is a growing urban church in Milwaukee, WI dedicated to creating an authentic and deeply connected community. A church that values the image of God in all people and who believes that the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves. Our mission is to live out the way of Jesus within a multi-racial community that brings hope, healing, restoration, and salvation to all people.

We are currently looking for a bi-vocational youth pastor to join the staff of TCC.

Milwaukee is ranked as the 4^th poorest city in the US. Its levels of poverty and unemployment rank among the highest in the country. We are looking for a person who is dedicated to reaching and ministering to teens in the city. A person who is willing to work in an urban environment among both African-American and white teens. A person who is willing to break open their lives and pour themselves out for the benefit of hurting and lonely teenagers in Milwaukee.

The job description of this person would be to join our current youth ministry, alongside our current youth pastor, (forming a two person youth ministry staff) to expand the reach of our youth ministry, disciple teens, and work to build multi-racial ministries within TCC. Currently, our youth ministry is mainly directed at African-American teens living in the central city of Milwaukee (currently serving approximately 50 teens). Our desire is to bring in a person who will work in conjunction with this existing ministry but expand it by drawing in both white and African-American teens living on the perimeter of our city and some that also attend TCC with their families.

This person would join a closely knit staff of 6 (some full time, some bi-vocational) that seeks to work together as a team to expand the Kingdom.

This person would need to feel a deep call to the city and to teens. Be able to invest time and energy into the lives of teenagers. Feel a burden for racial reconciliation and be willing to live in the difficulty of the city. Both men and women are encouraged to apply. Opportunities to live in our “community house” are available with this position.

This is an exciting opportunity in an exciting and growing urban focused church. Taking ministry to people instead of waiting for them to come to you. Of living and ministering incarnationally.

At this time there will be no salary offered to this person, but there are possible housing compensation options. This staff person would be encouraged to raise personal support for this missional work and to work a secular job if necessary.
