Hope Academy—a growing, Christ-centered, inner city school located in an economically challenged, inner city neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota—offers a classical, Christian education to a diverse urban community of more than 250 students in grades K-9.

Started in 2000, the school is a member school of Christian Schools International (CSI), and has a mission to serve the youth of the inner city with a remarkable, God-centered education. We offer a challenging classical curriculum, which includes Latin, music, art, a small athletics/activities program and a growing parent support network.

Our Upper School program currently serves around 100 students in grades 6-9, with a grade being added each year.  We are seeking an Upper School Principal for the 2009-2010 school year.

The Principal will serve as the administrative leader of the Upper School, will supervise a staff of 6-9 other full- and part-time teachers and staff, and will also teach. The Principal will be an integral part of developing and administering this growing program, and will be a central figure in cultivating it as a Christian community of academic excellence and character formation for inner city students.

The candidate must have a passion for Christian education and exemplify this in his or her daily attitude and actions. The candidate should also have extensive knowledge of and experience working, living, and serving in an urban community marked by ethnic and socio-economic diversity.

It is strongly preferred that the candidate hold a Masters Degree in Education or similar field. A degree in Educational Administration and Supervision is a plus. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have at least two to five years direct experience as a Principal or similar experience. As a leader in the school, the candidate must also have excellent communication and relational skills for working with parents, faculty and students.

The job is full-time, with a salary range of approx. $55,000-$70,000 depending on experience and education. Health benefits package is included (no dental).
