Portland, Oregon: Summer Missions Program Director
At Kaleo Missions, we are always looking for people to serve alongside of us in one of our great ministry locations. We are looking for people who love the Lord, love serving others, and have a desire to see people transformed by the Gospel of Christ.
Employment Opportunity: We are looking for someone who loves God and has a passion for ministry to direct the Kaleo Missions summer missions program in Portland, Oregon. This person will:
1) Have the overall responsibility for ensuring that the primary goals of Kaleo Missions are being fulfilled, including blessing our ministry partners and creating a transformative experience in the lives of the Kaleo participants.
2) Oversee the Summer Staff

Minimum Requirements:
1) Must have a Bachelors Degree OR be at least 22 years old
2) Must have prior experience in outreach/missions. What constitutes prior experience will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
3) Must be in agreement with our Statement of Faith
4) Must be in agreement with our Purpose, Goals and Values
5) Must have a heart for outreach ministry to the most vulnerable people in the United States
6) Must love getting to know new people and have a desire to see participants lives transformed through Kaleo Missions experiences.
7) Must be able to make complex decisions in stressful situations after considering multiple, complicated factors.
8) Must be confident and comfortable working people from diverse backgrounds.
9) Must be an effective administrator
10) Must have excellent people skills and leadership skills
Employment Dates: You will be hosting youth groups to serve in Portland in one-week increments, within the range of June 19, 2010- September 3, 2011. We will not necessarily know the specific dates until closer to the summer, as groups sign up throughout the year. When groups are present, you will work a minimum of 30 hours per week. On weeks without groups, you will spend at least 10 hours serving alongside of our ministry partners and/or preparing for future Kaleo teams.
Duties:
1) Coordinate with local ministry partners: Be in continual contact with ministry partners to deepen relationships and ensure mutual benefit.
2) Coordinate with leadership of incoming groups: Will need to communicate with the leaders of incoming groups in advance to coordinate logistics and effectively prepare groups.
3) Oversee Site Staff: Will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the Summer Staff are spiritually led, equipped for their responsibilities and held accountable in their work and personal lives.
4) Develop programming for week: In conjunction with National Kaleo Director, this position will coordinate ministry opportunities for the week as well as all additional programming.
5) Assist local ministry partners: In off weeks, continue to serve alongside of ministry partners to bless them in their ministry and deepen our partnerships
Compensation: You will be paid $300 per week for each week there is a group, and $100 per week on weeks without groups. You are also encouraged to raise support, through American Missionary Fellowship, in addition to the Kaleo stipend. We will provide fundraising materials and information, by request. Your housing and meals will be covered while you are hosting teams. We will also be glad to work with your school so that you can receive internship credit.
