This position requires special physical requirements as well as a great attitude. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain experience in many areas of Christian camping,  including but not limited to grounds keeping, guest group on-call care, meeting room setup and tear-down, office and administrative tasks, trash removal, and general maintenance, as well as special projects. During the summer, duties will shift to leading Conference Center summer staff, including coordinating hiring, planning events, serving as a mentor, and leading weekly devotions for about 25 summer staff.
 
This internship will challenge and grow the way you view leadership and service, provide you with hands-on skills in customer service, general maintenance, and audio/visual equipment, and develop your interpersonal relationship skills, as well as provide you with insight into the bigger picture of how a Christian conference center operates.
 
Candidate must be perceptive, flexible, and a self-starter with a desire to learn and pitch-in wherever need with the ability to lead volunteer work groups, and seasonal staff.
 
Qualifications
  • Must have a strong commitment to serve with a Christ like attitude
  • Willingness to obtain training and certifications as needed (ex: Class B passenger license)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Able to work as part of a team and do what is needed
  • Clean driving record with valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
 
Ongoing growth & learning opportunities for the intern will come through:
  • Weekly meetings with Terry
  • Operations meetings every week (typically Thurs a.m.)
  • Assigned leadership and management reading
  • CCCA Sectional attendance (yearly camping association conference)
  • Journal writing reflection on Ministry, Leadership and Management
  • Leadership and management skill development through on the job experience and development of skills through assigned projects.
 
Miscellaneous
  • This internship will be approximately 2 years long, running September through August (exact dates TBD)
  • Hours spent in specific areas may vary throughout the course of the year – summer hours are typically longer, with one day off a week.
  • Work schedule will include working on evenings and weekends
  • This opportunity can also meet school internship requirements
  • Must be willing to assist in other areas as deemed appropriate by your supervisor
  • Preferred applicant will be at least 21 years of age
 
Salary & Benefits
  • 1st-year - $1,080 per month / 2nd-year $1,230 per month
  • Room & Board – Housing and meals (as available) are provided
  • Limited Medical Insurance Coverage provided
  • Personal Leave Time – 12 days per year
