Initial Resettlement Manager

Responsibilities:
 
·    Supervision of Initial Resettlement Staff – Oversee Case Managers, Resettlement Volunteer Coordinator, Interpretation Assistants, Medical Casework Coordinator, and Donations Coordinator. Provide accountability, encouragement, and training as needed. Foster a strong team-building environment. Provide case file reviews on a regular basis to ensure appropriate and timely service delivery.
·    Grants Management and Budget Oversight –Provide management and accountability for department specific grants.   Provide accountability to Initial Resettlement Team for cross-departmental grants. Monitor resettlement budget related to staffing and resettlement expenses, and provide forecasts and work plans to grantors and WR staff on ongoing basis.
·    Communication with Leadership Team - Communicate regularly with Program Managers and the DuPage Refugee Services Director, along with others on the Leadership Team. Provide appropriate feedback loop to Initial Resettlement Team.
·    Inter-departmental Collaboration – Participate with other program staff in weekly meetings to better understand and serve the needs of clients. Initiate collaboration with other program managers to efficiently serve families and communicate about trends and needs within the refugee community.
·    Supervision of Case Arrivals and IntakeApprove and manage intake of all cases for resettlement to the DuPage office, completing all pre-arrival preparations.   
·    External Communication – Communicate regularly with service providers to ensure timely service delivery.
·    Pre-Arrival PreparationOversee preparations for incoming refugee families, and support staff in securing necessary furniture, household items, host families, apartments, and airport pick-up assistance.
·    Post-Arrival Services – Oversee the completion of all required services and appointments after a refugee’s arrival, and initiate changes in procedure as necessary.
·    Mediation – Together with staff, address concerns and challenges that clients are facing; meet with clients to reiterate policy as necessary.
·    Communication with Churches, Networks, and Volunteers – Ensure timely communication with volunteers and churches involved with refugee families, in coordination with the Volunteer and Church Mobilization Director & Volunteer Coordinators.
·    Family Reunification ProcessOversee the application process for family members to apply for relatives overseas.
·    Other Tasks as Assigned
  
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Previous cross-cultural experience preferred
  • Strong inter-personal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Organized, attentive to detail, ability to coordinate various components of a project
  • Highly self-motivated and able to take initiative
  • Flexibility and creativity
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Previous management experience strongly preferred
  • Background in social work or case management preferred
  • Fluency in Burmese, Arabic, Nepali, or Spanish preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel
