Lawndale Christian Development Corporation (LCDC) was established in 1987 as a faith-based, not-for- profit community development organization. Our mission is to bring holistic revitalization to the lives and environments of Lawndale residents through economic empowerment, housing improvements, educational enrichments and community advocacy. Credits include over $32 million in commercial and residential development projects. LCDC serves as Lawndale's lead agency for LISC’s New Communities Program (NCP) and is organizing residents and community groups around the development and implementation of a five-year Quality of Life Plan.
Summary
LCDC is seeking a grants management professional who will assist the Resource Development Department by writing grants and managing grants management process; maintaining our existing and building new relationships; implementation of fundraising and marketing plan for the organization, which currently has an operating budget of $1.5 million.
Skills Required
§ Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years fundraising experience.
§ Strong organizational, research, analytical and oral and written communication skills.
§ Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
§ Strong interest in and general knowledge of community development initiatives.
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Internet usage. Proficiency in Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign a plus.
§ Experience with database development and/or maintenance.
Responsibilities
The Grants Manager Associate will:
§ Prepare funding proposals, progress reports and other supporting documents.
§ Manage LCDC grants management database and calendar.
§ Create and launch and implement a comprehensive communications plan.
§ Oversee updates to LCDC’s website and develop strategies for expanding online donations.
§ Design and produce monthly newsletter, the production of the annual report, and updating web site.
§ Oversee; implement special events, tours and site visits.
§ Identify and research new funding sources (corporations, foundations, government agencies); develop and implement communication strategies to expand individual donor base.
§ Oversee with the development and implementation of LCDC’s outcome based evaluation program.
