The Evangelical Covenant (ECC) is seeking a Director of information Services to lead the newly created Information Services (IS) Office. The IS Office provides solutions and support for both information systems and the underlying computer and telecommunications infrastructure for Covenant Offices. The Director of IS oversees and manages the mission of the office, creating and leading a vision for technology that can fulfill and complement the needs of the ministry departments and the denomination as a whole. The position requires a high level of technical ability, team leadership, collaboration across ministry areas, and sensitivity to our audiences. The ECC is a rapidly growing multi-ethnic denomination with 800 churches domestically with additional ministry partnerships in nearly 30 countries. See www.covchurch.org for more information. Covenant Offices is located in Chicago, Il. The successful candidate will have: ? A personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; ? A commitment to the mission and values of the Evangelical Covenant Church; ? A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in a related field preferred; ? Five to eight years related experience with proven skills in team leadership, or equivalent combination of education and experience; ? Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and desire to work in a team environment; ? Excellent project management skills; ? Strong written and verbal communication skills; ? Data warehouse experience is desirable. This position reports to the President of the ECC. The position is responsible for: • Creating and implementing a multi-year, strategic technology plan for Covenant Offices; • Leading the IS staff, prioritizing individual and team tasks and projects, identifying ways to sustain and grow talent, and providing regular performance reviews; • Partnering with ministry departments for database development and integration to provide the business intelligence tools that can easily and repeatedly deliver accurate and reliable information; • Developing a long term strategy for data warehousing and its supporting business intelligence tools, assuring the viability of that strategy; • Ensuring that proper controls are in place to comply with internal audits, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and any other relevant requirements, including a plan for business continuity and disaster recovery; • Developing a long term plan for hardware procurement, and improve the efficiency of the hardware deployment process; • Reviewing the inventory of hardware and software technology assets, ensuring proper licensing requirements are met and support contracts are active, identifying opportunities for consolidation, and pursuing creative means to provide up-to-date resources and solutions while minimizing support and resource requirements; • Developing IS policies and standards that promote systems stability, support responsiveness, and minimize end user issues; • Managing the effectiveness of a Help Desk continuing to provide timely response and customer satisfaction; • Recommending and overseeing a training plan for key personnel throughout Covenant Offices to reduce Help Desk requests and improve office productivity; • Communicating the department’s goals and accomplishments to the entire Covenant Offices organization, and encouraging ongoing dialogue with end users about the best way to achieve their business and ministry needs; • Preparing and managing a department budget that supports the overall technology strategy; • Participating in hands-on assignments as demand necessitates. The position requires a self- motivated, creative, team-oriented individual, who can identify and execute priorities appropriately. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. The person must have excellent organizational skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy and have the ability to follow through on assigned tasks. The majority of time is spent in an office setting. This position requires occasional handling of mid-weight materials and the physical ability to use the telephone, computer terminal, facsimile machine, copy machine, and other related office equipment.
