PRIMARY FUNCTION
 
Job Summary: The development officer identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors; serves as development liaison between both staff and donors; supports fundraising special projects, development initiatives, and goal setting
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-                  Cultivate relationships with existing major donors and “Partners”, motivating them to maintain and increase their level of participation through targeted communications, activities, and personal solicitations. 
 
-                  Identify, research and write grants from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

-                  Supports fundraising strategies and activities to ensure proper acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship of donors; participates in developing campaign materials for the Partner & Child Sponsorship Programs.
 
-                  Work with all department teams at UrbanPromise to develop and to strengthen systems and participation required to support UrbanPromise’s Development Plan.
 
-                  Write, edit, and help produce fundraising materials, organizational brochures, and other communications, including press releases, eblasts, videos, power point presentations, appeals, phone scripts and newsletters.
 
-                  Maintain and organize department development plan, providing reports against benchmarks and goals for UrbanPromise departments and board.
 
-                  Support the cultivation of new church audiences.
     QUALIFICATIONS
-          Bachelor’s degree required
-          At least five years of related development experience
-          Exceptional writing and editing skills and careful attention to detail.
-          Superb organizational skills, creativity, and self-motivation.
-          Ability to successfully manage external relationships and work with colleagues at all levels.
-          Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
-          Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office as well as Adobe Creative Suite and database programs. Donor Perfect experience is a plus.
