The GreenHouse
The GreenHouse is a Christian Community Enrichment Center located in the Gardenland/Northgate neighborhood of Sacramento, California. We offer after-school tutoring, mentoring, summer camp, youth groups, leadership development, and skill-building workshops to under-resourced youth. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving community by nurturing the emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and physical development of our youth and inspiring them to grow to their full potential.
FOCUS & SCOPE
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below.
Develop, coordinate, implement and oversee the Adventure Zone summer day camp.
Develop and nurture relationships with children.
Plan and implement a day camp theme, Vacation Bible School activities, and daily activities (games, crafts, singing)
Implement the USDA Free Summer Lunch Program.
Manage volunteers and encourage them to use their gifts.
Collaborate with other Adventure Zone staff and with staff from the City of Sacramento as needed.
Work with the Director of Elementary Programs to plan and implement field trips in the community.
Assist in the planning and implementation of an End of the Summer Celebration
Support and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
|
High school diploma; some college preferred.
|
|
Experience & Industry Expertise :
|
1 year working in children’s or youth ministry in an urban setting preferred
|

POSITION SPECIFICS:
9:00-1:00 Monday-Friday (22.5 hrs per week), June 14- August 6, 2010
$10 per hour
