Inner City Impact

College internships are available at Inner City Impact to supplement academic studies by providing opportunities for hands-on experience in urban ministry. ICI internships are flexible to accommodate the various requirements of colleges and universities. 

            Interns live and minister in the community of Logan Square.  ICI will provide housing.

Intern applicants must:

  • Be one year removed from high school graduation

  • Be in agreement with our Doctrinal statement

  • Raise the recommended amount of support

  • Live in the community

  • Sign a release form consenting to a background check

Summer Internships are available for either 10-weeks or 5-weeks:

  • 10 weeks:  June 2nd – August 9th. 

       Amount of support to be raised:  $2750

Applications must be received on or before April 1st, 2008

  • 5 weeks:  July 6th  – August 9th

      Amount of support to be raised:  $1400

      Applications must be received on or before May 1st, 2008

Summer Intern Opportunities include:

12, ten-week interns to assist in day camp who will:

  • Assist in leading day camp for up to 150 inner city kids

  • Teach lessons

  • Lead small groups

  • Build relationships with evangelistic purpose

  • Attend outings and camping trips with the kids

4, ten-week interns to assist with K-5thstudents who will:

  • Assist with running weekly club programs

  • Plan and teach games & crafts at clubs

  • Plan and teach Bible lessons

  • Attend outings and camping trips

  • Participate in home visitation

  • Build relationships with kids through small group outings and Bible studies

4, ten-week interns to assist with Jr. High and high school students who will:

  • Visit students in their homes and on their blocks.

  • Assist in the administration of the weekly Jr. High and High School-aged club programs

  • Assist the leadership during the monthly outings.

  • Be a counselor at the week-long Jr. High and/or High School camp.

  • Invite and accompany students to a local church service.

  • Lead a small number of students in a spiritual growth Bible study.

  • Support students by attending sporting events and/or other school functions

1, ten-week intern to serve as CampAssistant who will:

·         Assist with planning of camping trips

·         Attend camping trips

·         Prepare camp supplies

·         Assist in club programs

1, ten-week intern for Marketing/communications:

This intern will provide support to the Development department through a variety of marketing initiatives and general office tasks.  Must be computer/internet savvy, and possess well developed verbal and written communication skills, including creative writing.

8, five-week interns who will:

  • Assist in a variety of ministry roles

  • Assist day camp leaders

  • Attend camping trips and outings

  • Teach lessons

  • Participate in home visitation

  • Complete work projects

Throughout the Year:

Ministry Internships Are available in the areas of Sports Leagues, K-5th grade ministry and Jr. high-High school ministry.  Responsibilities may include Bible study preparation and teaching, home visitation, evangelism, discipleship, mentoring, tutoring, camping, after-school clubs, relationship building and other activities.

Other internships are available in the areas of Development/Fund raising, Marketing and design, Administrative Assistant, Web Design, and more.
