Children's Coordinator
Open Door Fellowship is a multi-denominational church in the inner-city of Denver. We are currently seeking an individual who loves the Lord passionately, and who feels a pastoral calling to young children (birth through Junior High). The successful candidate will have experience in children’s ministry, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop a volunteer leadership team within each of the ministry areas of responsibility. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Open Door’s children’s ministry areas and function as part of a pastoral team in order to accomplish church wide ministry objectives and long term goals.
Ministry Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee infant, children and adolescent programs for all church services
• Work with ODF Pastors to create integrated children and junior high program for all church services
• Recruit and train workers for these programs
• Work with ODF Pastors to develop children’s ministry opportunities for church members and volunteers
• Work with ODF, ODM and the Providence Network to effectively reach and tie the children and their families to church ministries
• Develop and oversee transportation ministry for children to attend church functions
• Develop and oversee big brother/sister program
• Weekly contact with directors of pre-school, day care and before and after school programs
• Work with church staff to have an effective multi-cultural strategy (Suburban/Urban/Multi-Racial)
• Develop and oversee children’s outreaches and family outings
• Other duties as assigned
Ministry Requirements:
• Must love young children
• Must have the ability to lead and develop teams
• Must have the ability to accomplish assigned projects through other ministry staff utilizing highly developed communication (written and verbal), project management, time management, and collaboration skills
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform high quality, detailed work with minimum supervision within assigned deadlines
• Must demonstrate the ability to think strategically while staying focused on the accomplishment of current departmental priorities
• Able to handle confidential matters and material with excellence
• Willing to raise personal support as a inner-city missionary
Educational / Experience Requirements:
• College degree in a related field desired
• 3 to 5 years of Children's Ministry experience desired
• Demonstrated leadership skills and current staff management responsibility
• Experience recruiting and leading volunteers
