Areas of Interest Description: 

Chicago Board of Trade Foundation has a significant interest in non-profits that work in the areas youth, education, social and human services.  The foundation is also not discriminatory to awarding churches and Christian organizations that are working in the interest areas of Chicago Board of Trade Foundation.

The M & T Charitable Foundation (Grant)

Geographic Focus Limitations: 

The M & T Charitable Foundation gives nationally to organizations but focuses on programs in the District of Columbia, Delaware, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

 

Funding Limitations: 

The M & T Charitable Foundation does not award grants to individuals or political or veteran organizations.

M & T Foundation (Grant)

Geographic Focus Limitations: 

The M & T Foundation gives to organizations in the United States.

Funding Limitations: 

The M & T Foundation does not award financial grants to individuals.

Areas of Interest Description: 

The M & T Foundation is interested in organizations focused on sports, youth, health and higher education. The foundation is also focused on programs associated with the Salvation Army.

 

Booth Ferris Foundation (Grant)

Geographic Focus Limitations: 

Appears to offer funding primarily in New York, but has a history of allocating funds in the following states:  North Caroline, Maryland, Connecticut, Wisconsin, California, Ohio, and Louisiana.

Funding Limitations: 

No grants are made to individuals, federated campaigns, or work dedicated to specific diseases and/or disabilities

Proposals submitted by education-based institutions to acquire fellowships, unrestricted endowments, and/or scholarships are heavily discouraged

Proposals submitted by social service agencies that serve outside the New York area are heavily discouraged

Proposals submitted from agencies outside of the United States will not be considered

If an organization is awarded a grant, three years must elapse before they can be keenly considered for another one

Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation (Grant)

Geographic Focus Limitations: 

Appears to allocate funding to organizations based in the Michigan area, but has also extended funds to organizations located in the following states:  Washington, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, New York, New Mexico, Missouri, Massachusetts, Arizona, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, California, Illinois, Wyoming, Washington DC, Iowa, Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina, Delaware, and Wisconsin.

Has also allocated funds in the following countries:  Indonesia and the Netherlands

Funding Limitations: 

Appears to not fund individuals.

 

Dr. Scholl Foundation (Grant)

Geographic Focus Limitations: 

Provides funding for organizations based in Illinois, but has a history of providing funding for organizations based in New York, Massachusetts, Montana,Connecticut,  Arizona, South Dakota, Wyoming, Texas, California, England, and Canada

Funding Limitations: 

The foundation will not consider the following kinds of organizations for funding:

  • Any organizations that does not have a valid IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter.

  • Any political organizations, political action committees, or individual campaigns whose primary purpose is to influence legislation.

  • Foundations that create grants themselves.

  • Either individuals, endowments or capital campaigns that seek grant funding.

  • Grants for either the payment of loans, intended to reduce an operating deficit or a liquidation of a debt

  • Any grants designed for the sole purpose of general support.

  •  
  • Event sponsorships including the purchase of tables, tickets or advertisements.

  • More than one request from the same organization in the same year

  • Emailed or faxed proposals.

 

Areas of Interest Description: 
Provides funding for private education, including elementary, secondary colleges and universities; also provides funding for children based organizations, as well as organizations for the developmentally disabled.  Civic and cultural institutions, as well as senior citizens, social service agencies, hospitals, health care, environmental and religious based institutions are also funded by this foundation.
