The Ford Foundation awards grants nationally and globally (including Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Russia, Latin America, and the Caribbean).
The foundation does not provide support for programs that already receive substantial support from the government. The Ford Foundation does not award grants for routine operation costs, building construction or maintenance, educational scholarships (undergraduate), graduate fellowships, nor personal or local needs.
The foundation also does not award grants to organizations that emphasize religious sectarian programs or activities.
The Ford Foundation is interested in providing support for organiations devoted to strengthening democratic values, reducing poverty and social injustice, supporting human achievement and international cooperation.
