Do you feel alone or overwhelmed?

Would you like more support for you and your family?

[Name of your mentoring program] can assist you by matching you with a team of volunteers to encourage and support you.  The teams are made up of interested individuals from area churches and the community.

Teams of 2 or more volunteer mentors will offer:

¨Support and encouragement

¨Assistance in areas such as:

  • Job coaching
  • Solution building
  • Budget planning
  • Time and household management
  • Making connections with other sources of help

Through this program the team members will meet with you weekly during the next 6 months or more.  They will help you work on your goals, including finding a job, or keeping the one your already have.  At one of the first meetings with your mentors, you will set your goals.  The volunteers who participate in the program do so for a variety of reasons including their beliefs and interests in helping you succeed.  You are NOT required to join a church or attend worship services in order to participate in this program.

Teams represent many different beliefs and ethnic backgrounds.  If at all possible, we try to match you with a team that fits your wishes.  These teams are not trained professionals.  They offer emotional—not financial—support.

Here what some families say about their support teams:

“I can talk to my support team when I need to and they are there to listen to me.”

“I’m finally getting my life ‘on track’ with the help of some people who really care.”

“Everyone was willing to help in any way they could. They were all very friendly and I feel a lot better knowing I’ve made new friends.  They all showed me that there is hope in the world.”

“The support team gives me some of the will power to keep striving…and not give up.”
