Summary:

This report may be of interest to public administrators involved in workforce development issues. It presents descriptive findings from an investigation in five cities (Baltimore, Fort Worth, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, and San Diego) concerning the degree of collaboration between workforce investment boards, church congregations and faith-based nonprofits. It does not offer lessons learned or recommendations, but may be useful in identifying examples of collaborations and giving insight to the scope of the faith community’s involvement in employment services.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Public and FBO administrators as well as church leaders interested in workforce development issues may find this study of programs in other cities helpful in starting, expanding, or improving their own program.
