Plunge2Poverty is a guidebook that will help leaders plan an intensive 42-hour weekend event that will challenge youth, college students, and adults to face the harsh realities of living in poverty. The guidebook contains the Mission Waco poverty simulation format, brief explanations of adapted models, and basic components essential to designing the poverty simulation experience. The focus of this experience is to awaken the believer's sense of privilege and responsibility and to encourage participants to be involved in the lives of others in a practical and understanding way.

For 21 years, Mission Waco has been mobilizing hundreds of middle-class students and adults toward more compassionate involvement among the poor through its weekend Poverty Simulations and Out-of-Country Exposure trips.  The workshop describes how carefully designed experiences confront many of the myths about the poor during the guided training.  It will also provide both guidelines for building this experiential training from a Christian perspective and other creative initiatives which stretch Christians who want to become more involved in ministry with the marginalized.
