Calm in the Storm? Seeking Shalom in the Midst of Gentrification (as the Gentrification Wave Crashes over Your Neighborhood)

Chicago’s HumboldtPark community will serve as an example of what “the storm” looks like as government powers are used to facilitate the market’s takeover of a neighborhood. This workshop seeks to create space to acknowledge the oppression that comes with gentrification and discuss ways to address it on personal, structural, and spiritual levels; dialogue between indigenous residents and “gentrifiers” encouraged.
