In order to equip TechMission Corps Members for their term of service, our staff conducts a Pre-Service Orientation (PSO) covering the following topics:
- Overview of AmeriCorps’ history and values
- Overview of TechMission’s history and values
- Overview of the TechMission Corps program
- AmeriCorps guidelines, benefits, & commitments
- Member activity requirements
- Measuring & reporting outcomes
- Completing timesheets
- Using technology in youth programs
- Resources available on the web
- Online safety for youth
- Lesson planning
- Workplace communication & etiquette
- Cross cultural training
TMC Members also meet monthly with other Members in their city for professional development, leadership training, team building and camaraderie. Topics covered during monthly trainings may include:
- Assessing youth’s computer knowledge
- Citizenship training
- Computer lab trouble shooting
- Conflict resolution
- Disciplining youth
- Financial literacy
- Mentoring
- Personality testing
- Problem solving
- Resume writing
- Understanding poverty & social justice issues
- Using TechMission’s websites and member benefits
- Volunteer management & recruitment

TechMission Corps in Atlanta, GA
To Whom it May Concern: I am inquiring about any open TechMissions positions in the Atlanta, GA area. I did not see any position descriptions directly in that area so I thought I would ask. I am a rising 2nd year grad student at Emory University - Candler School of Theology that is looking for a paid internship. I can begin immediately.
