Summary:

Casey Family Programs created this website to aid caregivers and service providers as they help prepare youth to live on their own.  The site includes tools such as free online assessment tests providing immediate feedback and guidebooks that you can use to create a customized educational plan. Aren't sure exactly what skills the kids in your programs need to know in order to be self-sufficient?  Do you need help coming up with creative and fun ideas for presenting the food pyramid or the importance of money management?  Check out the guidebooks.  In them you will find lists of topics to include in your life skills program as well as methods for teaching those skills.

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

Although this site is not created specifically for the faith community, FBO practitioners should not pass it up.  The free online assessment test is a great tool to help you decide which skills your youth need to work on most. The test is available in English, Spanish, and French.
