Can I use We-Blocker with Windows Vista?

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

No, you should not install We-Blocker on Windows Vista. If you have attempted to install We-Blocker on Windows Vista, please remove it immediately, following the steps described elsewhere in this FAQ.

In Windows Vista, Microsoft provides its own content filtering via Parental Controls (see http://netsecurity.about.com/od/secureyourwindowspc/ss/VistaParents_3.htm for instructions on how to enable it). We-Blocker, we believe, is still a good free solution for Windows XP, though. If you want to see other options for Web filtering and Internet accountability, we have reviews listed here: http://www.safefamilies.org/SoftwareTools.php.
