Arms Wide Open (founded in 2000) is a {501(c)3} nonprofit organization specialing in home and community based services. The mission of Arms Wide Open is to provide the most needy members of the inhome aged, chronic ill, disabled members with support services for the purpose of enhancing their independence, comfort and safety. When people become frail due to age, accident, injury, serious illness or sickness, Arms Wide Open helps them to live at home with dignity.

BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grantmaking organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response form the American Theatre community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since its founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $140 million dollars for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV, and other critical illnesses.

DOING THE MOST GOOD!

The M.A.C Aids Fund also known as MAF, the heart  and soul of M.A. C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. MAF is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, MAF strives to raise awareness of four key issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS: 1) Prevention, 2) The link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, 3) Access to Care, and 4)Adherence to medications and treatments.

The Good Fight

   Fueled by concerns about the effects of HIV/AIDS on the lives of their children, two California mothes were inspired to create the Until There's A Cure Foundation, a national non-profit organization. Founded in 1993, the Foundation's expressed goal is to raise millions of dollars to fund prevention, education, care services and vaccine development.

   What distingushes this Foundation form others seeking to help those facing the HIV/AIDS disease is that the sole source of financing for this effort is The Bracelet. The real power of the Bracelet is its ability to remind everyone that we must all continue to work together. The Bracelet is sold in stores throughout the country.

TAKE ACTION NOW

Earvin "Magic" Johnson has developed a very interesting and informative Aids awareness campaign. I Stant With Magic Program is a part of the campaign to end Black HIV/AIDS. According to Magic, people should 1) STAND UP AND GET INFORMED.  By learning about the virus, how you can protect yourself from it and how we can work together to stop it from spreading. 2) STAND UP AND GET INVOLVED. By joining the "I Stand With Magic" Program. 3) STAND UP AND GET TESTED.  It is important to know your status, and check it regularly. 4) STAND UP AND GET TREATMENT. 5) If you are HIV positive, work with your doctor to get the treatment that's right for you and don't forget to take your meds. It's one of the important ways to take care of your health.
