About the Speakers

As a world-class kick-boxer, Blinky has worked with youth since the 70’s. However, in 1990 the work became personal when he fell victim to gang violence. Sonny, his 16-year-old son was killed in a drive-by shooting. It was this tragedy that inspired Blinky to dedicate his life to ending gang violence. Despite intense anger, hurt and chilling grief, he and his wife Lily had the courage to meet the three killers face-toface in the courtroom, not for retribution, but to forgive them. CIS violence prevention and intervention practices have been replicated in the USA, Germany, Tanzania, England and South Africa.

Evangelist Milo now speaks in high schools and churches all over the country. “Reality Check” ministries have taken him to some of the worst projects and neighborhoods from the east to the west coast. He now resides in Pomona, CA and is the unit pastor for the department of corrections and rehabilitation division of juvenile justice and is a LA County Sheriffs Chaplain.

Pepe came from a life of adolescent drug use, gang membership and was a high school dropout. After entering a Christian drug rehabilitation program he accepted Christ, left the gang and drug lifestyle and graduated from high school. He went on to earn his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University. He is an at-risk youth counselor, parent educator and mentor program coordinator for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, and volunteer for the Orange County Juvenile Hall. Pepe attends Calvary Chapel Chino Valley with his wife, Gina, and daughter, Celina.
