Talk presented Sat, May 17, 2003 at the Urban Youth Workers Institute Conference 2003.
You have seen the last days of a youth culture that defines every student living in this generation. Students have an assortment of subcultures to choose from. No longer does a skater have to be a white student from a middle class home, but may be a first or second generation Hispanic living in a poor urban neighborhood. The color of skin has less and less to do with the choices students make, especially in choosing his or her friends. This cultural shift will force youth ministry to approach school campuses and neighborhoods with a new missionary mindset. If your community is a growing diverse community with multiple subcultures and you have a desire to reach them this seminar is for you.
