This seminar will focus on how to develop a basketball program with the facilities you have.  It will also present ideas on how to develop a basketball league within your neighborhood and how to include other ministry programs, all while remaining focused and centered on the gospel of Christ.

You're a youth worker and you want to buy a car, a house, or put some money away in savings, but how do you do that on your salary?  We are a faith-based work and if we take God out of the mix, we are no different than non faith-based youth programs.  We need to be different.  What does it mean to live on faith - or is it foolishness?   We will talk about the struggles of being an urban youth worker, yet wanting to have a life.  Is it possible?  Is it feasible?  Or is it only a dream?  We'll be looking at some of the solutions to having your budget and your bucks be at the same place

What is the mandatory retirement age of a youth worker?  Is youth work a viable career or is it best used as a stepping stone to a real job?  Can you raise a family and do youth work?  What is God’s best plan for my life and does youth work have a call for me?  What are the things that make you want to quit?  When is it time to quit?  These are some of the questions that we will discuss, sharing the insights of a youth worker that is in his fifties, who has put four kids through college.

Learn the steps to setting up a camp discipleship program for youth.  Kevin will provide you with the framework of the discipleship program from Camp MayMac in California.  This will include philosophy, purpose statement, objectives and schedule.  You will be able to ask questions regarding the process and reasons for the camp program.

(Economis 1 is a pre-requisite session for Economis 2.)  This session provides a live demonstration of Economis, an interactive, online “mini-economy” you can use with youth to teach them financial life skills.  Economis is being used with students at Wheeler Mission’s community center as well as several other Christian after school programs and schools around the country.  Economis is suitable for all grades but especially works well with middle school students.  It offers an experiential way for youth to learn about personal money management, saving, and investing and also serves as outcome-tracking software for your youth ministry.
