هذا مادة جيّدة على الهوية من لا جنوبيّة.  بسبب الافتقار الهوية الجماعة من "لا جنوبيّة" يكون هذا منطقة كبير ، هو يستعصي ل هذا منطقة أن يحصل موردات.  أنا أفكّر أنّ قد اختبر نحن هذا ك [ولّ-بينغ] ينزل هنا.  كثير يتلقّى وزارات وتنظيمات في لا جنوبيّة يستعصي وقت يقبل متطوعات لأنّ مساعدة يكون هكذا نادرة في هذا منطقة.  نحن نصلب ل كثير موردات في هذا منطقة أيضا.

بما أنّ أنت تعرف ، جزء من الخبرة من يستضيف أن يقود ك [دبريف] بعد كلّ يوم الخدمة.

مع واحدة مجموعة خاصّة ، تلقّى أنا كان يستعصي وقت يتاح مع [دبريف] أنّ لاءم حاجاتهم [إين وردر تو] نمات [سبيريتثلّي] وكنت صعبة بكفاية.
 
بما أنّ أنا كان صلبت حول ماذا هو كان هم احتاج أن يفهم ، أنا لمح فوق في الليل سماء. حيث أنا أكون من أنت يستطيع رأيت ملايين النجم. جيّدا ، أحيانا في ال [إينّر ستي] أنت يضطرّ بحثت حقّا بشدّة أن يجد نجم ال [شينس] ساطعة بكفاية أن يكون يمكن أن يرى هو على اللاصفة مدينة أضواء أنّ يشعل فوق الليل سماء.

لا [لونغ غو] ، أنفق الأسرات من [فيرفإكس] [برسبترين شرش] آلاف الدولارات أن يطير مراهقونهم إلى مكسيك لثمانية أيام من يتمّ جيّدة. هم ساعدوا بني منازل ويجدّد كنائس كجزء جيش من أكثر من 1 مليون في الأغلب مسيحيات الذي سنويّا يذهب على قصير المدى دوليّة مهمة رحلات أن يعمل وبشّرت في [بوفرت-ستريكن] أراضي.

قد عيّن المركز لطالبة مهام ، [هدقورترد] في [دنا] نقطة ، [ك] ، [دن] يسلك ك ه ثالثة رئيس والمدير التنفيذيّ. سنة [أغو] ، رئيس حاليّة ، أعلن [نول] [بكّهتّي] وزوجته ، [كل] ، نائب رئيس العمليات في [كسم] ، أنّ هم كان حسّوا إلهة يحضّ أن يترك [كسم] في سبتمبر - أيلول ، 2008 أن يتتبّع إلهة دعوة تالية إلى وزارة جديدة. [إين وردر تو] ضمنت ناعمة وإنتقال فعّالة ، بدأ اللوح فورا بحث عملية أنّ مؤخّرا استنتج مع ال يوظّف من يسلك. هو سيبدأ تنازله جديدة في سبتمبر - أيلول 1 ، 2008.
أسلكت في دوره جديدة ، سيقود [كسم] داخل عقده ثالثة من مهتزّة ، وزارة مدنيّة حيث المهمة يبقى مركزية:

يفكّر أنا يتلقّى يكون [ألّ دي] حوالي ما إذا أو لا مجتمعتنا قد أصبح تماما يعمي بظلم. هو شيء أنا أشعر أنّ نحن يمكن يتلقّى أصبحت معتادة إلى. يفتح يكون في [كسم] هذا فصل صيف يتلقّى حقّا عقلي إلى أنّ إمكانية. هو تقريبا يبدو أحيانا أنّ يرى نحن فقط ماذا نحن نريد إلى [إفن فتر] نحن يتلقّى يكون عرضت إلى هو ، يخدم في هو ، عاش في هو ، ويكون يربّى حول هو. هكذا يخمّن أنا سؤالي كيف نتمّ نحن لا يصبح محصّنة إلى هذا إصدار ضخمة [سستميك] ؟ كيف نحن نعرض مراهقات إلى شيء أنّ لا يجعل هم إحساس مذنبة ويحصل ب التصق في الشعور بالذنب ؟

      As I was sitting on a hill overlooking the city of Toronto during our final debrief, I was warmed by how evident God's presence was in the week. I suppose that the fact we all survived the first week as Summer Hosts without any major tragedy was testimony enough to the power of a loving God. Our training had been intense and the days before the groups arrived, we were filled with excitement and nervousness at what was to come.

It's funny how things can be so simple, but if you don't look closely enough...you miss them. One such example comes with the FedEx logo. This was pointed out to me not too long ago, and I've never been able to look at the logo the same way since! Be forewarned, this may alter the viewing of this logo for you too. Next time you see one, check the white space between the E and the x. You'll notice an arrow that is pointing to the right! If you're like me and never knew that existed, you've just had your perspective changed. Such was the case for me during our debriefing session last Wednesday.

So we hear a lot about Hollywood on TV. As a kid I always thought that was the happening, cool place. I went there today to some of our ministry sites that we have there, and I quickly learned the reality of my TV Hollywood. Yeah there are the hundreds of stars for the famous, and the shops, and Capital Records. BUT there are also a lot of poor people in Hollywood. Hollywood is not just the sign we see on the hill, it is a community of living, breathing people.

Every Wed night we have a praise night out on the beach at Coney Island with all of the groups that are here. So we have a time of worship, some testimonies, a time of teaching, and then some small group time

As we were closing the night I was talking to the group about prayer. The verse I read to them, the theme verse for my CSM experience, was Ephesians 3:20, which I’ve talked about before. It reads,
"Now all glory to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask of hope." I also shared this story:

I am reading a book that a former staff member blessed me with called: Here and Now by Henri Nouwen. An excerpt out of the book is called "From Competition to Compassion".

"Compassion - which means, literally, 'to suffer with' - is the way to the truth that we are ourselves, not when we differ from others, but when we are the same."
....
"It is not "excelling" but "serving" that makes us most human. It is not proving ourselves to be better than others but confessing to be just like others that is the way to healing and reconciliation."

I am reading a book that a former staff member blessed me with called: Here and Now by Henri Nouwen. An excerpt out of the book is called "From Competition to Compassion".

The past 4 weeks at CSM Houston, hundreds of people of all ages have passed through the doors (although most were high energy junior high). Every week, a few groups get a chance to serve at the Harbor Light Salvation Army. It is a men’s shelter for those that are recovering from drug and alcohol addictions as well as a daily meal service and shelter for those on the streets. One man that is always there when CSM volunteers arrive is named David. David's story consists of attempting to go through the program at Harbor Light 6 different times.

Asking for spare change is easier.

Bumming a smoke is less gut-wrenching.

Standing in traffic, trying to catch the gaze of drivers who fiddle with their radio buttons to avoid looking into the eyes of a homeless person, is less intimidating than standing up for yourself. Which is what Xavier J. Bannister was doing yesterday in asking for a place in a neighborhood he considers his own as much as those who own property there.
