Summary:

 

The American Correctional Association is the oldest and largest international correctional association in the world.  It provides those in the corrections field opportunities for professional development, networking, information about standards and accreditation, as well as assess to consulting and research.  In addition, ACA offers an online training academy and conferences for corrections professionals

 

Why does FASTEN recommend this resource?

 

ACA offers many publications that will be helpful to reentry practitioners, from workbooks for offenders and ex-offenders to assist them in successfully transitioning to life outside of prison to manuals addressing how to manage reentry programs.  In addition, its periodical, Corrections Today, may be helpful to those ministering to ex-offenders. The magazine provides background information on this field, program profiles, updates on legislative changes, announcements about training conferences, etc.
